When you’re thinking about relocating, you want to cover all the bases: the cost of living, the entertainment options, and the school system.
Don’t fret, we did the research for you.
We looked at all of those factors as they apply to Deer Valley, Utah, to show you why it’s such a fantastic place to settle down.
Deer Valley, Utah: Cost of Living
The most important question to ask yourself when you’re looking for a new place to live is, “Can I afford to live there?”
Deer Valley is a little bit more expensive than some cities in the US. Unfortunately, that’s true virtually everywhere that a lot of people want to move, from LA to NYC. Where there’s high demand, there are higher costs. The important thing to remember: when a location is in high demand, there is definitely a reason and Deer Valley has a multitude of them.
However, Deer Valley (located in Park City, Utah) is not as expensive as a lot of big cities, not by a long shot. There are excellent cost benefits such as lower average utility bills, taxes and entertainment expenses. When you weigh out the costs versus benefits, the benefits outweigh the costs by far.

Because Park City offers a lot of other advantages – that’s what drives the higher expenses.
Deer Valley, Utah: Entertainment Options
Deer Valley is truly a world-class ski resort. If you’re into skiing, you probably already know about it.
During the 2002 Winter Olympics, Deer Valley was home to both the freestyle moguls and aerials events as well as the men’s and women’s slalom. Deer Valley also hosted the 2003 and 2011 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships.
Park City, Utah was recently named the “Top Ski Town” in SKI Magazine’s “Resorts of the Year: 2019, Editor’s Choice.” In fact, since 1998, the Deer Valley resort has been ranked in the top three for their reader resort survey, making it arguably the highest-ranked ski resort of the history of the survey.
When it comes to entertainment in Park City, Utah, one of Jensen and Company’s very own takes full advantage within her day to day routines. Crystal Fordham has worked in two other cities in Utah, however, she by far loves Park City the most for its endless entertainment options.
Taking full advantage of the beautiful landscape, Crystal highly recommends snowboarding, hiking and biking throughout Park City.
There are plenty of options for everyone in Park City. The Zagat Restaurant Guide also named Deer Valley’s Mariposa as the #1 restaurant in Utah. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to grab a cocktail and relax after a long day of skiing.
Deer Valley, Utah: The School System
Schools in the Park City school district – where Deer Valley resides – routinely outperform other schools in the state. That, of course, doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, but it does mean that you’ll be putting your kids in good hands.
Jeremy Ranch School, one of the most popular elementary schools, has a 9/10 rating from Great Schools. Their high school, which has over 1100 students, boasts a 10/10 for college readiness, with a whopping 50% participation rate in AP courses. That alone could save you (or your kid) thousands on tuition money:
