Nine months of the year, Canyons Village is a lift-served base area organized around chair times, ski school drop-off, and the walk back from Red Pine. From late June through early September, the same plaza works on a completely different clock. The Forum lawn becomes a stage. The Amphitheatre becomes a ticketed venue. The gondola runs for concert traffic instead of skiers. And this summer, one construction detail rearranges how residents get to any of it.
For anyone who owns a home here, the useful question is not what is happening in the village. Almost everything is. The useful question is which nights the plaza belongs to a crowd, which mornings the lawn belongs to residents, and which single change to the parking garage will affect every guest you host between now and Labor Day.
The parking change that reorders the season
Start with the piece most residents learn the hard way. The parking garage is closed during construction this season, and a free shuttle runs from the surface lots to the base area. Lots 3 and 4 at Canyons Village are free for summer 2026 concert-goers.
If you live in the village, the practical translation is this. Guests who used to pull straight into the garage now stage at a surface lot and take a shuttle in. On heavy nights, that shuttle line becomes the choke point. The workaround for residents is simple and worth telling houseguests in advance: walk. On concert nights, the walk in from Sun Peak or Frostwood is faster than the drive plus shuttle. On Forum Fest weekend, it is not close.
Two concert series, two different weeks
The village hosts two music formats in 2026, and they are easy to confuse because they share a base area. They do not share a stage, a schedule, or a price.

The free Forum series runs earlier in the evening and is presented by Toyota, Kona Big Wave, CVMA, and Park City Mountain, with Mountain Town Music handling the concert production. Outside alcohol, dogs, and umbrellas are not allowed in the venue, but low-back chairs and picnic blankets are welcome. If you want a real drink, food and alcohol are available for purchase at the Umbrella Bar.
The ticketed Amphitheatre series is a different animal. Organized by Park City Performing Arts at the Amphitheatre at Canyons Village, the 2026 season runs from July 10 through August 29, eleven shows across seven weeks, anchored by two themed multi-night weekends. The season opens July 10 with Grammy-nominated soul artist Allen Stone and closes August 29 with MAX and Marc E. Bassy. In between, you'll find Southern rock legends, pop icons, reggae royalty, and alt-rock favorites. The two themed weekends are the 80s Weekend (July 24-26) and Country Weekend in August.
The operational detail that matters for residents: no gondola or lift is required to reach the venue. The Amphitheatre is at ground level at the base area, and it's a flat, easy walk from every Canyons Village property. If you're driving in, you park and walk, no lift, no cabriolet, no shuttle within the village needed. That last line is written for out-of-town ticket buyers. For residents, it is a reminder that on Amphitheatre nights, the crowd is arriving on foot from the surface lots, which means the plaza between your building and the venue is the arrival channel.
The three nights the plaza belongs to the crowd
July 2 through July 4 is not a normal Forum series week. Forum Fest is a free, three-day outdoor celebration hosted every 4th of July weekend by the Canyons Village Management Association at the Forum at Canyons Village. Now in its fifth year, it has become Park City's signature summer community event.
The scale is different from a Thursday concert. It features nightly headliner concerts, a drone show, fireworks (weather and fire conditions permitting), a kids activity zone, cornhole tournaments, mechanical bull riding, food and drinks, and free Frostwood Gondola rides. The gondola is the tell. The Frostwood Gondola operates complimentary throughout the event, giving you elevated views of the venue, the village, and the Wasatch Range. July 2 hours run 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM; July 3 and 4 hours extend to 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
For a Canyons Village resident, this is the weekend the mental map changes. Any errand that requires driving out of the village between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM those three days should either be done early or skipped. Any guest arriving from Salt Lake should be told to plan around the venue opening, not around Main Street. And the gondola detail is the local edge: if you're staying in Canyons Village, you can ride up before the evening rush and claim your spot early.
The morning rhythm most owners miss
The evenings get the attention. The mornings are where the village feels most like a neighborhood.
Every Saturday this summer there is free outdoor yoga on the Forum lawn. Yoga will occur every Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am from July 4 through August 29. Same lawn that hosts the Thursday concert crowd, six hours before the crew starts loading in for that night's show. The overlap is the point. If you live here, you get the lawn twice a week in two completely different modes.
Pendry adds a second layer to the weekend. Meet us at Pendry Park City all summer long for a rotating mix of curated live music sessions featuring some of Utah's brightest musical talents. The property runs the series every Friday and Saturday from June 26 through September 5, 2026. That is a full fourteen-week Friday and Saturday cadence, on top of Concerts on the Slopes and the Forum series. On some weekends in July and August, there is live music in three separate spots inside the village between 5:30 PM and 10:00 PM.
The nights worth leaving the village for
A resident summer schedule that lives entirely inside the base area misses the two other stages within a fifteen-minute drive.
Deer Valley anchors its 2026 summer with the Deer Valley Music Festival from July 17 through August 15, featuring the Utah Symphony and major guest performers including Lyle Lovett, Chris Botti, Idina Menzel, and a tribute to Celine Dion. The Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater and St. Mary's Church serve as the two primary venues. Snow Park is the outdoor lawn most Canyons Village residents already know from ski season parking. In summer it flips to the same picnic-blanket format as The Forum, with the Utah Symphony instead of a cover band.
There is one non-festival Deer Valley night worth flagging separately. The Deer Valley Concert Series brings Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue with St. Paul & The Broken Bones to Snow Park on August 14 from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. If Amphitheatre bookings do not include a horn section that summer, this is the night to drive across town.
And for anyone whose summer calendar depends on the resort staying open past Labor Day, the operating window is Park City Mountain summer operations run daily from June 6 through September 7, then Thursday through Sunday from September 8 through September 27. Mid-week bike laps end on September 7. The shoulder weeks in September are the quietest the village gets between snowmelt and first chair.
What the schedule actually tells you about the address
There is a version of Canyons Village that shows up on a listing sheet: ski-in, ski-out, four-season resort community. It is accurate and useless. What the summer schedule tells you is more specific. From late June through the end of August, the village runs on a public calendar that determines the noise floor of your patio, the availability of the Forum lawn, the crowd on the Frostwood Gondola, and the walkability of the plaza after 5:00 PM. That calendar is written, dated, and free to read.
Residents who plan around it get a summer that most owners a mile away do not. Residents who ignore it spend July wondering why they cannot find a parking spot in their own village.
