The Theater
The Egyptian Theater has been a part of the Park City community dating back to the late 1800s. The theater has gone through a couple of renditions after being burned down in a fire in 1898 and collapsing from a snowstorm in 1916. The Egyptian Theater was rebuilt starting in 1922 and reopened its doors on Christmas Day in 1926. Much of the theater’s architecture, design, and decor was by the discovery of King Tut’s tomb that took place and dominated the news during this time. Throughout the theater, you will find symbols and graphics that are reflective of Egyptian culture. Some major renovations and restoration efforts in the mid-1990s have helped the theater retain a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere for guests to enjoy the performances. With 350 seats, the theater provides an intimate experience for patrons. First-class acoustics, lighting, and sight lines make for an easy and pleasant viewing experience. All shows are reserved seating only so make sure to book your tickets in advance! Ticket prices vary depending on the show and available seating. The theater does offer refreshments.
