As the sun begins to linger in the sky longer and the weather starts to heat up, people are thinking about exploring the great outdoors around Park City. Popular seasonal activities like bike riding, whitewater rafting, and fishing are becoming more popular as the year moves on. People are looking for any excuse to be outside.
Luckily, the Park City Council recently approved plans for ten local restaurants to have dining decks for the upcoming seasons. These are the most approvals in the history of the program, which dates back to 2010.
The dining decks will be allowed between April 12th and Oct. 30th.
Let’s take a closer look at the Park City restaurants that will have dining decks this summer:
Bangkok Thai on Main
As the first Thai restaurant to land in Park City, Bangkok Thai has been a Main Street staple since 1994. Now under new ownership, chef Wichayanee (“Yanee”) Chayangkura is doling out fresh bowls of Thai food while honoring the beloved restaurant’s history.
This restaurant features classic appetizers like coconut sesame shrimp, roasted duck with steamed buns, chicken satay, and inventive signature dishes like three-flavor sea bass and pineapple fried rice, and pork belly prik khing. There’s also an extensive curry and noodle menu to round out your feast.
The Eating Establishment
Opened in 1972, The Eating Establishment has been a beloved diner to three generations of locals and visitors to Park City. In 2017, it was purchased by a small group of local regulars and spruced up a bit.
Under the guidance of chef Brendan Kawakami, the menu preserves the original spirit of a ‘breakfast all day’ restaurant while adding a few new comfort food elements to round out the day (and night).
Crystal Park Cantina
Crystal Park Cantina brings a fresh, new option to Main St. They feature a very welcoming, relaxed, and inviting environment that locals and tourists can enjoy. They feature a large outdoor patio and an upstairs bar, serving signature margaritas called the best in Park City!
Flanagan’s on Main
A family-friendly restaurant for the incredible flavors of authentic Irish fayre, Flanagan’s on Main is fun for all ages. Menu selections from their kitchen include everything from shepherd’s pie, corned beef & cabbage, and bangers ‘n’ mash to fresh salads and delicious sandwiches.
Using an interplay of fresh ingredients, seasoned artistry, and a colorful atmosphere, Shabu features fresh Asian dishes.
A mainstay among Park City’s culinary delights, family-owned Shabu has drawn a devoted following over its 14 years. Now, they look to expand this following by adding some additional deck space for the season.
501 on Main
Situated right in Park City’s Historic District, their renovated dining rooms and an all-encompassing menu including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian preparations that the whole family will enjoy. With a combination of locally sourced ingredients, their seasonal menus feature robust flavors and distinct presentations.
They also offer a wine list featuring organic, low-sulfite, sustainably sourced wines, a beer list with something for everyone, and hand-shaken cocktails.
Alan Galeano’s fourth restaurant in Park City, The Brick, offers guests affordable food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Galeano, also the owner of El Chubasco, Crystal Park Cantina, and Burgers and Barley, created the menu himself to include various options for the entire family.
The Brick offers appetizers like crispy fried green beans, beer-battered cauliflower, and fried smoked gouda cheese. Other menu items include soups and salads, sandwiches, and signature homemade buffalo chicken mac and cheese, hand-breaded buffalo chicken and blue cheese crumbles, or barbecue mac with homemade pulled pork and sweet barbecue drizzle.
